Last weekend a group of poeple decided to went off for a night luring season, total there were 10 of us. we started casting soon after we arrived the fishing grounds weather and water condition looks good on that night but for the first 1 hour fishes dont seems to be biteing and i start to wonder what has went wrong are we doing something wrong or what. Than from the other far end of the waterfreaker Useree radioed us on the walkie talkie saying Sam has caught a hairtail first fish of the night so i asked Useree to take some photo's of it when later on the night we can have a look at it and of course fish was released.
Later on sticko's Halco Roosta was stolen by a barracuda with just a tick on the line never even had a chance to do anything it was so frustrating for an lurer to lost a lure this way, by then the water level are getting lower and lower after sticko re- tied his leader back on we moved up to another area to look around. Ring ring on the walkie again who could be the next one landing fish? Oops nope it was fishmanokbl he need some help on his reels a screw was loosen and he need it to be tighten so asked sticko if he has his handlie tools with him tonight.
sticko: Yup the tools is all along in my bag hmmm pls come over me and alan are having some problem here TOGETHER leh lol both of our lures are caught on a same big big bag now we are pulling it back together.
After pulling the big big bag up the breaker and unhooking it sticko fixed the loosen screw on the reel, We recalled everyone to meet up for some discussion to decide to say and wait for the first light or go home to slp. now is already 4am in the morning might as well we find a place for some rest and whack the first light again hopefully we can have some fun's with the queen's
TIME: 6.45am can't remember whos the first to wake us up but all i know it is time to chiong again. most of us are working very hard in hope of the queen's are around to give us some fun O yes they are... around but The first half an hour we encounter lots of followers right in front several feet which ended up with a swift U turn back to the deeper water. Our lure presentation was almost right but not good enough to trigger them to strike our lure.
Last week finally my long waiting lures are in stock sobat80. i'm waiting for Dave to restock the same colour ones that i used to land e spotted mac and a few nice fishes. The old sobat i have already put it to retirement dont wanna lost it kekeke so i bought a new one from dave. So i took the sobat out new in box and work it with a fast retrieving method that most lurers used to target the queens, right after my 3rd cast i had a fish on with the sobat80 fish jumped out of the water quite far a distance away i tot it was a todak can't see with my other 2 eyes on lol. fish did not put much fight so i think it could be realy a todak la soon i pumped it near to the breaker OMG it was a wolf herring this was my first wolf herring on lures kekeke 1 more new species added to my list of fish landed on lures.Well the wolf herring was not released after taking of photo's it was dead after awhile
1 of the ladies anlgers in our group had a take on her lure but too bad it ended the fight read fast on the first run. fish throw hook and got away. We has been fishing under the hot sun for a few hour without food in the morning so we called off for a break under a big tree for our lunch kekeke as usual we will bring along some roti's and can food on such a long hour fishing trip. Eat already drink already battery charge already energy half full already we chiong out in the hot sun again but now we changed our target more focusing to get the groupers that are hideing under the rocks, we try all kinds of diver's to get down to the groupers are but keke they are not home yet maybe they are having some meeting in the office so lets wait and try harder hope they are also having late lunch
The lucky sticko was using one of his fav lure (sh... don't others is shore bullet ok) twitching here and there suddenly i hear him shouting (i got a fish i got a fish it was a grouper!) i ran over to help him with his fish keke OMG guess what it was a very nice Coral Trout, first thing come to my mind is yummy yummy fish kekeke so we search around for ropes so that we could kept the fish alive till the end of the trip. hmmm the above was the happy part of the story la hor the sad thing is he lost the lure right after he had landed the Coral Trout to THE ROCK!!! this is very often happened when a lure catches a fish LOL that is why i keep some of the lure that had landed a fish wonth keeping the lure and get a new one to replace it
Last but not least the 2 brother came back with the biggest catch that weights 3.5kg grouper they went to their secret spot apart from us lure used was a black angle kiss that is no long to be found in the market
