Night ops after work

Yes we are back to the spot again after work but this time we went at a diff tide , just to check on which tide will be good for the place. and yup we found out that the fish there takes only on slow or not moving tides like most places for kims.

The night sh was the only one which landed a 2kg kim , mondo had a take but lost the fish during the few sec fight.

Returning and see hopes

Last week me and my kakis decided to go back to a old forgotten place to try our luck after work, when we reach the area non of us knew where and how to enter lol luckly after some roundings i start to recall and manage to found it. The walking in takes us less than 15mins, poor sh fell into the water when we try to bypass the fencing. Lucky only half of his body was wet and some cuts on his hand. So guys be more careful while fishing and never fish alone, at less 1 or 2 more kakis around if anything happen you still got help kekeke,

Water depth was kinda lor but well.... a 2 feet water is enuff for fish to swim around liao so i'm not worry about it, esp barramundi they can be found in very shallow waters.

Oh ya recently i got myself a Daiwa luvias 2000 so haha that night was my first trip with it, pairing it with my GLX kekeke its super light weight set up liao

happy......

For the first 1 hour we had nothing not even bait fish was around so sh, ibr and mondo start to move about but i still tell myself this hole might has fish around , so i stayed and kept casting at the same area. After awhile mondo came back to find me, water starts to rise bait fish start to came in.

Mondo was telling me that he felt that this area will only has small ones as it was to shallow liao lol the next moment i had a take kekeke it was a small but fun barramundi.

Vesak day local offshore fishing

Kinda busy for the past few days so unable to do any updates on my blog kekeke. On vesak day we had a all in one trip.

Huh.... all in 1?

Photobucket

Yup all in 1 lol, First early in the morning about 4am we went over to a island which i think most anglers will love to pay it visit but sadly it is now a restricted Paradise for anglers after 911.

Photobucket

Photobucket

We did some light trolling along the breaker but no big ones landed , we encounted a few cut off by the bigger ones. Maybe some of our leaders are to light liao but nvm the next time round we will come back with better set ups.

Photobucket

Mondo was lucky to hit a small one before we leave to place.

Photobucket

We also did some lure casting in the morning on the boat but seems like the fishes were not around, anyway this was his first time doing lure casting on his boat so we don't expect to have any good results.

LOL we had done trolling and luring , what will be next........

Jigging....

We moved over to another area to do some light jigging targetting the Sagai, hai... no matter how hard we jig NOTHING nothing seems to be biteing. SO i change over to bottom fishing with my hong kong hook. There was so many small fish at the bottom of our boat to small to get hooked lol. After a few try i landed my first fish on my pinky rod kekeke a nice size parrot fish.

Of cos the others are also hitting fish too

My light bottom setup

Out of sudden there was some flashes on the surface , it could be the queenfish boatman told us. So we immediately change over to our jigging set up and start jigging , Thomas, sh and ibr hitted some queenies but ibr had the most queenie landed some we released it back and only 2 was kept.

My Pinky GLX

Recently Roger helped me to build my G.Loomis GLX in a rash for my local offshore trip on vesak day, Well.... all i can say is I LOVE THE ROD VERY MUCH! Its super sensitive and light, alvin also told me that this rod the casting will be sick, "SICK" as in it can give you a good casting distance effortless.

Oh Ya the first fish on my GLX was a nice parrot fish kekeke , i'll do a write up after i collected all the pics

But on my offshore trip i'm unable to try how good can it cast, i only use it for bottom fishing kekeke. SO yesterday me and SH went for a luring trip to test the rod out. i have been dry for quite sometime liao damn sian.... but finally i manage to break the egg on luring. And also amazed by the casting distance i get on my GLX, Its really effortless lor.... just a light cast the lure fly like no tml lol.

This was the fish that broke the egg, a small wolf herring on Ima sobat 80s.

Rod: G.Loomis GLX (custom)
Reel: Daiwa theory 2000
Line: Fireline 10lb
Leader: Triumph fluorocarbon leader 30lb
swivel: NT swivel #6
Snap: seahwak snap #2
Lure: Ima sobat 80s
Taken on fast retrieving

Before we call it a day i hitted a flathead but no pics taken as fish drop back into the water.... lol

Stay tune for my local offshore trip on vesak day, it will take sometime for me to prepare it kekeke
