My past catch 075
Apr 14, 2007 Pekan
We are back from a fishing trip to Pekan the catch was not that fantastic but i guess all of us enjoyed the trip afterall
Before we when off to pekan we had did some homework about the place and we found out jigging is not that great as it use to see. So we decided to get 3kg of live prawns from fishing buddy before we move over to malaysia in the noon on friday. After a few hours of driving steven, dreamer, roy, jerry and me finally we reached pekan in the evening but we do not know where is ricky's hse so give them a call, in awhile time ricky's father aka (IKAN MASIN ) and ricky's brother aka (ah boy: the most friendly and heplful guy )came and lead us the way to their hse.
After off loaded our stuff into our rooms ah boy bring us over for dinner over their local kopi shops and give us some local knowledge briefing on the fishing over pekan. i have to say ah boy is a nice person next time if we are going again we will look for him. Ah boy told us saturday morning ricky's father will be our captain. After dinner when over to a shop nearby and bought some food, drinks and never forgot about the fruits, then we head back to take some rest.
Ricky's father did give us a briefing himself again while we are at his hse relaxing having kopi and awaiting for another group of 4 friend to arrive. They arrived at about 1 am unloaded stuff and chit chat awhile before we when to bed
Saturday morning ah boy bring us out to have our breakfast, food there so so only what to do so took some light food and off we go to see our fishing boat
2 of our boats when off to different locations on the first day so there will be not much photos from the other boats. they have landed a few big cobia and Golden Trevally and some other fishes ,photos will be shown later on
First day of the trip on our side were not very good jiged up only a few fish in the morning while the boat drift above the Coral reefs the water was so clear you can even see the reefs below the boats
And this is ricky's small brother ah long if i did not get the name wrong kekeke his also a jigging fan but had not much results so he came out with an ideal of adding a live prawn onto the jigs and lower it down keke this is what he landed on the improve jigs
Later on in the noon our captain decided to move on to another spot for us to target the parrot fish since jigging is not so effective, lucky we did bought some live prawns up to pekan but he did prepared some crabs for us just in case we were to target the parrots
Well i'm still sticking with jigs while the other starts to tie their rigs and lowering down rigs. Surprisingly we found out something very unusual fishes there seems like had no interest on our live prawns at all. But they go for those dead prawns instead we landed a few Spanish Flag Snapper,Leng Jiam etc (not much pics as we CNR some of the fish on the spot lol no point keeping so much small fish right?). Live prawns no bite at all, funny part is even the parrot go for dead prawns dreamer landed his parrot with a dead prawns as well and missed a big ones.
OK thats all for the first day on our side and here are some photos on the other group of friends
4 big cobia and 2 big Golden Trevally 1 big Ang Kuey and some small fishes pic are taken when they are back at ricky's place
End of day 1
Day 2
we all have decided to stick together 2 boats this time and head down to the spot there the other group of friends went on day 1, had some changes on our captain as ricky's father will be welcoming some VIP's i guess but nvm that First upon reaching the spot the kiasu chan was the first to droop a 40g rabbit jig down to the bottom and this is wat kiasu chan had landed jig was removed right away when the boatman gaff the fish up
By this time everyone is ready to fish and all rigs are down some are busy jigging for tamban's as over this spot tamban's are the killer bait
We are able to see the other boat from our side o man we can see they are busy fighting some big fish triple hook up at the same time but only landed 1 i guess 2 of the others are cut off and ran away
We are wondering why all the action are on the other side what when wrong huh.... out of a sudden maria aka roy shouted :teo teo teo, te0 liao hahaha teo liao teoliao ar!!!!!!
The action did not stop right after dreamer taken some photo of roy and his fish now it's him that had a nice hook up on a GT (Golden Trevally )
Jigs had totally no result so i give up changed to jigging for tamban's hahahaha as they others need it as bait a killer bait

Part 1
Ha its me again lol yesterday night went fishing a few friends till this morning with only a small todak landed . the whole night no bites at all This time the todak was landed on milkfish tat we buoght from top gear tackle in geylang now they are selling very good size milkfish for the big ones . btw just a reminder pls do throw the unwanted rigs in to the bin dont throw them ard on the grounds ,tat night i almost kena hooked by a 2 hooks apollo some day you might just get hooked by the rigs yourself if you dont keep the place clean

part 2
It has been quite sometime since we have not posted any CR finally last few days Me, dreamer , steven , david and his 2 kids went fishing together again . Bought a 500g of live prawns weather was not tat good looks like it will rain anytime but dont care lol there is a shelter near by so no worrys kekeke . Saw some bait fish along the side hmmm this might be a good night to land something i guess

yesterday went fishing wif xris, not a very good day but still cought some small fish 5 ACK , 1 parrot / 1 big flathead . onli a pic of flathead been taken all fish are back into water for another day

hello everyone it's me again alan chan kekeke when fishing yesterday nite wif some kakis .desmond our new member landed a chemin n afew misses .
b4 we start fishing we wen down to changi to buy our bait n eat la after tat hor we go see see tackle ard
hai you know wat happen i step on some human shit wow who the hell shit there :s33: dan ok nvm so we move on to fish la wen we reached to spot our van kana stuck we used 2 or 3 hrs to pull the van out . dan at last we can start fishing liao.....
it's not the end yet kekeke rain was coming ,o man wat a fishing day ah yo i talk many many hor keke
desmond here's the pics o ya maybe of the rain i'm sick now tomolo you guys going back for revenge?

3 grouper, 2 of them are on lure's (storm rubber lure) 1 on dead Prawn
2 ack on dead Prawns
2 bigeye Travelly , 1 on dead Prawn 1 on tambam jig. missed 2
1 parrotfish
only few pics taken fish was back in the water for another day

Hello everyone yesterday when for a last min trip to tj rhu wif 1 of my friend,
reached the spot n the tide was just going down so fast fast set up everything we need .
friends from tat spot is already there for a few hrs liao onli landed 2 small grouper .
he told me this spot is gone liao la n yes i agree wif him there are to many ppl casting nets over the yr liao fish will never get near to this tpye of place liao
last time this spot wholes many small or big fish along the side of the wall but now its very hard to catch a small fish . queenfish can up to 7kg ack threadfin etc all gone hahaha
but anyway friend of my is very lucky to land a queenfish yesterday its a small 1 but better dan notting m i rite

i'm not promoting the longkang fish n not selling it to anyone just to let you guys know tat this bait works in the wild too
