Big rubber small grouper

Yesterday me ,sh and ibr went for a shout trip to a location that will be gone real soon, current yesterday was slow at that area sh spotted quite a number of prawns along the breakers and a small grouper hiding under a pvc pipe. after snapping up our lure and rubber we started casting, i had some chase on the 5 inch still hunt but they were all small ones.

But i manage to hit a small grouper on the 5 inch still hunt with slow crank + light twitch along the side of the breaker






Moments later.... as usual SH took out touch light and shine around , wow there was a small kim parked in front of us. We try casting lure and rubber to him but he got no interest at all.

We leave after awhile... for kopi....

Sembawang Fishing Championship 2009

Yesterday me and my groups of friends went for the Sembawang Fishing Championship 2009 that was held at Singapore Discovery Centre from 1pm till 5pm. I'm not very sure whos the main organiser of the event, we get to know about this from JurongBoii a member i knew from FNR he invited us to join the event.

Weather was so damn hot i took a pics before me and jarrett move off from my place, i can't see any clouds above my head lol .

Its gonna be a burning day......


After about 30mins of riding me and jarrett finally reach Discovery Centre saw our man of the day JurongBoii and bill casting along the side, Had some chat with them and looking around.











This was also my first time to Discovery Centre i had heard storys about the place quite sometime ago but do not have a chance to try kekeke. The pond was quite big but sad we are only allow to fish at a small area only.

Mins before the com starts we are allow to wet our lines , someone had a 2lb toman on the first few cast.

After bill released the fish ,JurongBoii gave a shout briefing and the compy officially started and everyone went off to fish.







Mondo spotted a group a baby toman and lured them in and each of us landed a few small ones , soon the crowd came casting here abd there crossing lines all over the place. i just do not understand why must one cast from a far end to another crossing others line, i'm bored and moved back to cool of myself.





Alfred came around 2 to join us hahaha he was so lucky lor on his first few cast a 2.1lb toman was landed










But soon a small boy landed a 4lb red Tilapia on a small storm rubber given by the organiser




Oh ya forgot to mention about the door gift, the organiser give away door gift,drinks and provided lunch for everyone that came for the event

At almost end of the day JurongBoii asked everyone would we mind if they add the 2lb toman that was landed before the compy starts? hmmm we are ok kekeke as long alfred was still in the 2nd place hahahaha , later part of the report you will know why everyone wanted to get 2nd place kekeke.

The 3 fish were the biggest catch of the day.

Hot sunny day

Yesterday early in the morning met up with Ibr and yuki mondo for breakfast and head off to Lure's Graveyard. When we reach the mosquitoes and sandy was happy to see us lol and start feeding on us, till now my legs are so itch. After setting up everything and putting on some insect repellent we started casting, on this trip i told myself no to use any hard lures

hahaha you know what? i did not bring any hard lures for the trip kekeke

I'll just concentrate on rubbers only.

yuki mondo saw a badly injured 1 kg size kim stuck in the shallow , water was going down if we were not there to safe him he might be dead for sure. We bring it up and released the fish back to the sea, at least he had a chance now. LOL we name the fish Pinky.

Pinky seems like do not wanna leave us he just kept swimming around us for the whole day hahaha

After quite awhile of casting suddenlly ibr shouted " oh shit oh shit i cast my lure to a shallow danger zone i lost my sobat there before oh shit " lifting up his rod high and fast cranking the lure back, that was not the funniest part lol on the way back a fish intend to take his lure fish turn and got myself fool hooked on his back.

After helping ibr on some photos taking i went back to his spot and casted right into the danger zone that he cought the kim. Once my white still hunt touch water i close my bail arm WTH goal keeper sia... fish took the still hunt while it sinks. Oh shit oh shit my turn to say that lol fish was swimming into the structure very nearby i pump and pump try to stop the fish from swimming in but .... sad.... the hook came off.

After the lost everything seems to quiet down weather was so damn hot so we call it a day after awhile and head down to beach rd for kopi.

Got myself a Seahawk Aluminum Round Knob to pair it with my 2500 caldia kix, colour of the knob perfectly match on the reel. Got it from Hotspot for $18.

It can fit some shimano reels as well if you are not sure bring it down to the tackle shop and let them fix it on for you.

Shimano Twinpower 2000 / Daiwa 2500 caldia kix


The Seahawk Aluminum Round Knob come with 2 stainless steel bearings


Basically it is a cheap and good stuff to have, i dont see much diff from those branded ones :X.

For daiwa reels you need to use only 1 bearings for the knob











For shimano reels you need to use 2 bearings for the knob

Don't be brand conscious and only go for some good brands. Of course there is a point there,SOME branded items do ensure quality to a certain extent. SOME of those well known brands have quality and standard. Or some might be quality conscious, getting the branded ones also for the quality of the materials.

but that does not mean the others does not have standards and quality as well. Dont be a blind brand followers there are still cheap and good stuff out there with the same quality materials.

Of course some cheap brands totally can't make it :X

Why do some need or want those branded items? Do they really know what they are paying for? Do they really love the items or they just want people to love what they have?

Well just some of my personal views sometimes you might be paying a higher price for the same thing, anyway this knob will last me quite awhile till i totally forgotten when did i bought it
