Lab park eging

Last night actually was not a good day and timing to go for eging but me and my friends decided to go kill some time in lab park. We was there about 8.30pm not much of anglers around last night. So we started trying our lucks but hmmm lol zero was landed and after awhile we gave up and relax.

At around 10 plus hmmm dont know whos great idea to go prawning so we went over to the Ebi culture prawning at Aroozoo Ave. Will put up details and photos on my next post.

Another trip to the pole fishing pond in east coast

After the trip that day we went back again the next day (14.10.09)for a short while lol we pay for an hour and manage to land 4 fish on 1 rod.

last night we went for eging in lab park and after that to prawning in ebi culture prawning will update it later on.

East coast pole fishing for pomfret "we found the keys of getting them"

Last night me, jarrett and 2 more childhood friends went to east coast for awhile , the actual plan was the 2 of my friends are going there for rollerblading me and jarrett will wait for them to come back then go for kopi. As me and jarrett don't have our rollerblade anymore.

While waiting for them to come back me and jarrett went over to the prawning pond to see see look look then saw the pole fishing pond, water was so clear that you are able to see everything below hahaha.

Only 1 angler fishing last night in the pole fishing pond , we watched for about 20min no takes at all . You can see the school of pomfrets swimming around the pond but just not biteing. So we chat with him a bit and happen to know that he has been fishing for 3 hours in the pond liao but zero landed.

The more we watch the more itchy we get lol.

So end up we decided to try our luck for 1 hour.

Rod,line,hook,float and baits are provided ( prawn meat )




For the first 30mins no takes at all but we feel that they are too wary liao something must be wrong with the rigs. So jarrett pull the float all the way up to the tip of the rod and try fishing without using the float and let the bait sink to the bottom.

mins later surprisely one of the schooling pomfrets took the bait hahaha our first fish of the night! Now we found out that it is the float thats affecting the bite rates esp when the fish saw the float, so we remove the float and must have very good eye sights becos once they bite the bait you got to strike it or else fish will throw the bait out very fast when the feel the tension.

So if you guys are going try my tips
1: Remove the float / bait on the bottom
2: Look very careful on your bait
3: strike it once the fish took the bait

Total we landed 4 in 30 mins the last 1 did not manage to take together with the group photo becos it was a last min catch before we leave the place.

I'm going to the pond again reach after this post lol

Booms saturday morning rain and shine

Yesterday it started to be a booms booming sunny morning everyone of us was hopeing such a nice weather could last untill the end of the day. All of us started to fish around 8.30am when the tide was at the lowest point, this location that we are fishing has gaven us quite a bit of fun, countless barra was landed and some groupers too but good things don't last lol. We created our own structure by throwing quite a bit of rocks around the area in hope that the groupers will find it more comfortable for them hang around.

Me and sh was trying our lucks with rubbers, ibr and mondo was using hard lures but mondo gave up after awhile and go after the Sand Whiting with prawn meats lol. Moments later sh had a strong pull on the 3inch Gary Yamamoto Ika while boucning on the rock structure we created but he lost the fish due to weak hooks that open up a little.

mondo landed about 10 Whitings in total but suddenlly the weather changed so fast with rain clouds, strong winds and thunder booms boom booms . We quickly packed up our stuff and ran for cover with our rain coats on, sad lol the rain was so damn heavy and wind was so damn strong.

30 mins later the rain finally stoped and i decided to cuntinue fishing at a diff location for groupers as by now the water should be high enuff to cover the rocks.

Just after a few cast sh had a fish on but don't know what the F was he doing he did not set the hook ended up he lost the fish, mondo's recent luck was good he manage to hook up a small grouper on his smith cherry blood MD after sh lost his fish.

After photo taking we went back to fish, surprisely both me and mondo one after another hitted fish haha wow double hook up this time.

Tips: working the lures above rock structure with twitches

Poor ibr had no takes at all untill he hookup this kekeke so i took a quick shot of it hahaha



but ibr has the never gave up spirit we moved to another location and he finally got his first ladyfish landed.

While i was helping ibr taking photos sh had a fish on, first we tot it was a ladyfish but when sh reeled in lol it was a tilapia. if it was a ladyfish we will have another double hook up of the same kind again in 1 day.

seriously i am wondering is mondo wearing red under wear yesterday? lol cos he got his first ldayfish on lure too lol his so BOOMS lor hahaha 2 grouper 1 ladyfish is booms liao.

Total catch of the day 3 groupers, 2 ladyfishs ,1 tilapia and about 10 Whitings

Last night Eging

Yesterday night me and mondo decided to try our luck again after a long break, everything looks perfect (weather , tide , timing) we was at the eging location 3hrs before highest tide.

The first hour i landed 2 squids tot it could be a good start but sad thats the only 2 squid ard hahahaha, both squids took my jig on the surface while i am retrieving the jig back from a far cast.

Bite rates very low and boring so we call it off early for kopi .
